About Port Stephens Domestic and Violence Committee
Port Stephens Domestic and Family Violence Committee provides a collaborative platform for agencies and community representatives who work in the DFV space, to share expertise, identify service gaps, and advocate for improved outcomes.

The Committee aims to:
- Identify needs and gaps in service provision for both victim/survivors and perpetrators, with the aim of achieving holistic and effective outcomes.
- Develop and share resources to support the reduction and prevention of DFV.
- Encourage membership from a broad range of government and non-government agencies.
- Develop and maintain effective interagency strategies to strengthen service delivery.
- Emphasise the impact of DFV on children as direct victim/survivors.
- Advocate on behalf of victim-survivors and lobby for funding to support DFV projects and initiatives.

The Committee is hosted and led by Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Services, who have been supporting local families impacted by domestic violence for over 30 years.
The Committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss issues facing the Port Stephens Community. As well as understanding the prevalence of DV in the community, committee members discuss responses and best practice approaches to working with people impacted by violence.
